Get Involved

In 2019 Crown Boys Mentoring CIC collaborated with the Jamaica Christian School for the Deaf in Montego Bay, Jamaica, and opened partnership with other stakeholders in the UK and Jamaica to develop a better methods and understanding of youth provision.

With this in mind one of our main focuses in 2022 was developing learning opportunities and Good Practise by embarking on a follow up vocational workshop in Montego Bay, Jamaica during October - November 2022. The third offering will be undertaken in 23rd October - 14th November 2023.

The Team is made up of professionals in a variety of field such as, Emergency life support, Cyber and Information security, craftsmanship, performing arts and Photography offering an opportunity to participate in a series of short seminars and vocational training courses, community projects and local fundraising endeavours.

These workshop are part of the larger project which will extend to a full cultural exchange with disabled students in the UK and the West Indies.

We aim to break down barriers for young people around cultural stereotyping and and those with a variety of disabilities and to compare different lifestyles/attitudes towards young people's facing these challenges both from a European perspective, and an African-Caribbean outlook.

This will be evidenced by young people recording blogs and video diaries to be prepared during the exchange. We will provide our youth with appropriate resources to enable them to properly record the events and their experience whilst they are on this exchange .
